01/Overview
GuruRating helps students in Nepal choose colleges and professors using real reviews instead of word of mouth. It runs as a web app at guru.bibekadhikari18.com.np and as an Android app packaged with Capacitor.
Technical highlight
One codebase serves web and Android: the Capacitor app loads the hosted site, so a single deploy updates both platforms.
02/The problem
Choosing a college or professor in Nepal runs on word of mouth. There was no trusted, searchable place to compare professors and courses or ask current students questions.
03/The solution
Built a React 18 + TypeScript app (Vite, Tailwind, shadcn/ui) with Supabase for auth and data. Students browse and search colleges and professors, read and write reviews on detail pages, ask questions, and earn achievements and leaderboard spots; admins moderate from a separate dashboard.
04/The result
Live as a web app with an installable Android build, covering colleges across Nepal with reviews, Q&A, user dashboards and admin tooling.
